Local 7 Summits - Schnebelhorn - Switzerland

Introduction

In the context of the local7summits journey, the Schnebelhorn (1291m) was our 3rd target after climbing up the Lägeren and the Pfannenstiel a few weeks ago. Our trail was around 15 km with an estimated trail time of 4:45 hours - we did it in approx. 3 hours. The GPX file can be downloaded here without registration.

Peak #3: Schnebelhorn

The Schnebelhorn is the highest peak of the canton Zurich and not really an exciting mountain to hike up. Indeed the trail we took is nice with good views on the higher alps and the green hills towards the North. However, the peak itself is unexciting, solely the way up itself should be the reason why you do this trail. What is also worth mentioning, the trail offered two nice spots to rest and get some food/drinks if needed: Alpwirtschaft Tierhag and Berggasthaus Sennhütte
