Cycling around the Albis Mountain Range close to Zürich

This is a cycling trail, proposed by a friend, which starts in Zurich close to the Sihlcity and surrounds the Albis Mountain Range on a 50 km trail.

Sihlcity can be easily reached by public transport. From there, you climb up the Albis Mountain Range until you reach the top. This explains the steep part right at the beginning. Afterwards, you enjoy some time on the ridge until you descend down towards the Türlersee, a lovely lake with great views and a perfect spot to take the first break.

From there, you continue through some smaller towns until you reach Sihlbrugg from where you basically head back through the Sihl Valley until you reach Sihlcity again. Especially the last part from Sihlbrugg is pretty fast and straight forward without any complicated parts. In case you want to extend this trip to a complete daytrip, bring your BBQ equipment since in the Sihl valley you will find plenty of nice places to rest and enjoy a Swiss BBQ.

All in all a great 3-4 hours trip with nice views on the Alpes in case you have good weather – you don’t need to travel far to enjoy the beauty of Swiss nature.
